Some time ago my girl and I sponsored a Kickstarter project called WakaWaka. It's about a small efficient solar charged LED light for people of the world who do not have electricity. It turns out that a lot of those folks use Kerosene which isn't very healthy. The WakaWaka Kickstarter project ended some ago, but you might want to have a look at this product. I know RC folks can always use a nice pit light, and even off the track or flying field a light like the WakaWaka could come in handy and you are supporting a worthy cause. Ummmm, interesting although I always giggle when I hear the words "solar powered flashlight" ... ... FYI: just to save searching, their 'spec' page EDIT: Whoops sorry didn't see you already posted the links Yoda ... Meh "sometimes the bear gets you" LOL
It's all good w00d. LOL. We backed that Kickstarter project and a few will go to schools and people who don't have electricity for that, plus we will get one I believe.
They finished the first production batch of WakaWaka Lights so they will be available for purchase soon. They also launched a new website, check it out: http://www.wakawakalight.com/
Speaking of Kickstarter projects, our Waka Waka Light arrived this week. This is a great LED light, it is very well built also. It has four levels of light and is operated by one large rubber sealed push button switch. They claim 80 hours of operation on the lowest light setting and eight hours on the highest. There is also a SOS flashing mode. Here are a few photos: The package contents The Waka Waka light itself The Waka Waka light is made to mount on most bottles and gives it some elevation and a good base The back side has the large rubber sealed push button power switch You can support the Waka Waka light teams efforts here: http://www.wakawakalight.com/
