I went out to Applegate yesterday to run a search and rescue for a lost RC Paragllider and ended up about 60 feet up in a tree. I made two flights and the second flight I flew into a tree. Like the "lost" video the camera stopped recording before the actual crash.

    Here is the first video:

Here is the second video when the hexacopter went into the tree:

Here is a photo of the retrieved hexacopter and the damage.

I wanted to climb the tree to retrieve the hexacopter, but in reality I doubt I could have, and if I had it could have ended badly. We called a few tree specialists and my friends wife found August Hunicke, Arborist, via Google. When I called him he was up in a tree! Hows that for service!
An hour later August was at the site in Applegate and up in the tree. Not only did he get the hexacopter, but also found one of the Graupner propellers that had spun off. Talk about finding a needle in a haystack!

If any of you folks lose your model in a tree please give August Hunicke a call. His website has all his contact information and you can see some awesome photos of him way up in some trees. Definately worth a look.

Thank you August for coming out so promptly and all your great help getting my hexacopter back for me!

Bummer that some stuff got broken, but at least it ended well with getting it all back.
