Well guys I've asked a few times and have not gotten really any repsonse. I would really like to get myself a Hexacopter and have asked to have someone build me one without response, so after searching the Bay for a bit I came across this. http://www.ebay.com/itm/GLB600-HexCopter-HexRotor-HexaCopter-ARF-Set-With-KK-Flight-Control-600mm-/261033591056?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3cc6d08110 Is it any good or will it just be a piece of junk that sits on my hobby shelf as others have? If so who locally can you suggest to build one for me? I do not mind paying for it, I simply don't have the time to research, setup and build one myself.
If you posted this request before, I guess I just missed it. In order to answer your question, I need to ask a few of my own. 1) Are you an experienced flyer (not cars) now? 2) What is it you want to do with this thing? Your link was to a hex, but I'm wondering if you really need that. If you're just sport flying, you might consider a quad. 3) Are you located in Grants Pass? If you are, maybe you'd like to "see" some some of your options. 4) Your link was to a kit so I assume you realize that you still have to build it. Maybe we could give you a list of parts and sources to build something so you would have a little more freedom in selecting the components. For example, you could get the "new" KK2 controller rather than the "old" one that is in that kit. ...Tiger
Hey Caleb. I just posted a reply in what I think is your other request for a multiotor/info. Here is a recap... After giving it much thought I have decided I can sell my Blade MQX quad with a near-new Spektrum DX6i transmitter and six high-capacity flight batteries (plus the stock one) and the charger for $250. That's almost $400 worth of goodies all in excellent condition. Even still have the extra props that came with the MQX, and the box and manual. This is a micro quad and not well suited for camera use, although I have successfully flown it with my HD keychain cam If flies great indoors and won't hurt your LCD TV ;D Also flies easily in a mild wind outdoors without issue. I have enjoyed flying it but am turning my multirotor-attention to my new Scorpion 8) If anyone is interested and already has a Spektrum Tx I will sell the quad and extras for $125. But I won't sell the DX6i seperately If you're looking for a larger platform quad/hexa there are a lot of options. There is a basic setup detailed in this thread.. http://southernoregonrc.com/index.php?topic=1650.0 Tiger is definitely the guru with the knowledge when it comes to this stuff. If you have an hour to kill this Sunday come by Redwood School and some of us can show you what we're flying and give you some first-hand thoughts. As for building one for you, I may be able to find some time in the next few weeks to get something together, but depending on what you're wanting to do with it maybe someone else would have more time and/or be better suited to do the build. In any case, Sunday morning around 9:30am at Redwood School would probably be your best bet for getting the best info/recommendations. Hope you can make it!
I will do my best to come see you guys this sunday, as per the question in flying, lets just say I can graze the hair on your head with almost any of my planes and I've had about a half dozen copter's ranging from an MCX to an MSR Pro to a 300trex. I really want to get into FPV flying as I think that is about the neatest thing out at the moment.
A slight change in scheduling... Sunday is still on for most of the guys, though a couple of us will be out at Lake Selmac for a float fly event. However, tomorrow night (Saturday) the main group of dedicated quad flyers will be at Redwood School around 8:30 or 9:00 for a night fly. VERY cool to see with all the custom light sequencing by Tiger's own light control board which I think all of us have Hopefully this works out for you as its just down the road a bit from you.
