LOL, I was at one point in my career a Maintenance Supervisor for our Road and Traffic Department for our fair city and have seen this happen many times with a few of our low bridges. The funniest was when this Dump Truck driver working for us in snow removal operations forget to lower the load container after just dumping his load, needless to say there was enough mass and speed in so much as the container stayed put when hit and sheared from the truck. The funny part was the truck for unknown reason which was hard to believe didn't notice and was well past the bridge before he even noticed. For the above footage a smart entrepreneur might open a truck towing service near the location. However logic would have one thinking, if this is such a recurrence the 'City' would or should lower the road to increase the clearance ...
Their website is pretty funny too. Check it out: http://11foot8.com/ Read the FAQ page about why they haven't lowered the street or raised the bridge.
Yup I can see the sewage pipe running underneath driving up the cost to the point of being too prohibitive of what should be a simple road lowing ... and as always the raising of a bridge especially a Railroad bridge is the worst or the most costly method just for the reasons outlined on the page Meh, screwed, the drivers that is! I guess they can kiss their JoBs goodbye if (when) it happens
Too awesome. Certainly would give a wtf? Face Anyone notice in the last wreck there was a person about to cross the road wearing red. After the truck passed homeboy was gone.
