Well my electronics showed up this week, so got to finish my XR10 build. I had to do some trimming and mods to fit in the ESC but it all fit and runs great. Didnt realize just how small a space I had untill I started trying to cram stuff in there. Hope the photos turned out. Any suggestions to alter it any other way i'd like to hear. Cant wait to get another kit to start.
Your AX10 looks great. What ESC and motors did you use? How does it run? If you have a video upload it to YouTube and post it here so we can see it.
I used the outcry dual motor ESC and the RC4WD 540 55 turn motors. I should have some video of it within the next couple of days. I had a hell of a time trying to solder on all deans plugs on the electronics, havent soldered since JR High, but by the last plug I had it down. I left the bullet connectors on the motors, not sure if those are the best just didnt weant to screw around with it anymore. Thanks for the reply.
Your XR10 looks good. I like the pain job too. Take your video before you get it too dirty. I have not started mine yet as I am still accumulating parts for the build.
Looks good cyrus.be good to crawl with you.cant wait to get my xr and get some wheel time.should be here mon/ tues...im kinda open this weekend..let mee know.
Very cool. Glad to see some more comp trucks popping up. We have a comp at Juniper Flats next weekend. You should drag it out and get some wheel time with us. Out of the box with a decent setup a xr10 can run at the top of the pack. My only suggestion would be to get some good tires. You will never even come close to seeing the potential your rig has on those. Rovers can be found real cheap on a lot of different sites and work great on probably 90% of the rock around Oregon and northern Cali. A good servo is a must also. Look for something in the 400 oz + range. We have a lot of XR drivers that attend the comps and I'm sure they would all love to help you out and give you some tuning advice.
Hey Highlandcrawler - You should post your event(s) on the calendar. If you do, please post a address or a Google map for directions. I don't know where Juniper Flats is, maybe others don't also.
