Quite an interesting idea. There seems something unnatural about that, though. Not that I doubt it works, I just don't know that I'd trust it. I would liquid cool before I relied on air dissipation. Besides, with case fans and GPU fans, how much difference would one CPU fan make?
I have always dreamed of the "Fanless" computer. It used to be easy, but if you want anything with decent power it get difficult fast. Check out some of these fanless systems from Logic Supply: http://www.logicsupply.com/categories/fanless_systems They also have some nice car, ruggedized and rack computers. FanlessTech also showed this fanless Shuttle Bare-bones system that would make a decent media center: http://www.fanlesstech.com/2012/02/shuttle-xs36v.html
