Look at these leg extensions based on the DJI Triangle for mounting them, really cool. http://arkrc.com.au/cpsexylegs450-dji-f450-sexy-leg-extensions/
I'll bet it's really easy to break the arms with those on. Almost all the broken arms we've had are right out there at the end. That foot is going to provide huge leverage for breaking things. The other side of the coin is that you pretty much have to do something like that if you want hang anything under the frame like a camera. It's one of those damned if you do and damned if you don't things I guess. Just looked at conversion of AUD to US$. Looks like a set of those is about $42. Not exactly cheap! ...Tiger
That's a terrible design for several reasons. They are going to be in the field of view of the camera, especially a GoPro. If your reason for adding these is because you want to hang your camera under the frame use some snapware like you do on your helicopter. That way you won't have anything in your field of view and you won't be landing on spindly arm extensions.
I agree with the field of view on the camera, plus there is no way I would ever "just stick an open camera" out on anything that fly's. I don't know what people think when they have an open GoPro on the front of something flying at 40+ MPH over pavement! I will always be in a fully enclosed box with foam around it and a screen over the non replaceable lens. But, there were 7 leg extensions in stock last night, now there are 4, the guy made $120.00 last night while I made nothing...
I to noticed the sale of three sets of legs between the two views I did on the site last night. I think there are a lot of people that would like to have something like that and I'm sure a lot of it has nothing to do with a GoPro. There any number of applications where something like that would be nice. You just have to weigh the risk against the benefit I suppose. In business, sometimes you just sell the guy what he wants, because he want's it. If you don't, he's just going to give that money to someone else. ...Tiger
