Yes, the problems are with Apples iO6 and their NEW Mapping Software which was to replace Google Maps of iO5 but for many the NEW software was a major let down. Owning an iPod myself I am a fan of the Apple OS in general and looking forward to owning the Apple iPad someday but I do find this ALL too FUNNY.

“Unhappy” as reported by many sources around the NET but in my opinion “unhappy” is rather an understatement and none ‘users’ are more than likely to laughing their collective asses off. The following BLOG shows us a collection (for our enjoyment) and many of  ‘Screen’ shots of the most obvious mistakes and errors found by it’s users. The ‘ONE’ feature Apple was so PROUD to offer was the one feature that was to say the least an unbelievable collection errors. Yet again the ‘software industry’ policies of releasing a product before it’s really ready is NO less an issue after all these years. What I find amusingly FUNNY is Apple’s marketing for the last 20 years (as near as I remember) which was far less than kind against any of Microsoft’s Operating systems. Their mapping solution puts Apple and their marketing polices of the years past into proper light, yes?

EDIT: More 'silicon' related, JUST darn interesting ...

There is no way I am updating my I phone 4s to the new iOS6. I depend on the maps program at work. I get sent all over the place plumbing, with both my boss and I using the same phone we can send contacts and information to each other easily. We can also play "dice with buddies" while re-piping a house ;)

    Hi Bret
... Although it ain't happy NEWS for ya I'm glad the information proved useful

I don't know if it helps ya but Google Maps in iO6 would still available ...
... but unfortunately we can only access their maps trough our browsers

Personally I found iO6 is also slower and uses more memory

I use the iPod Touch, only 6.4GB total ...
... and I needed to remove some of my apps to have enough room for the install.
... That wasn't a BIG deal but losing the 'speed' was a disappointment

If I could go back to iO5 I would [IMG]
... and if I had known any of this before I had installed it I would never have!
