    Looks like the baro works just fine on it's own.

    He mentions in the article that he will be replacing the ultrasonic sensor with the laser rangefinder, I presume he is keeping the barometric sensor, at least that's how I understood it.

    I was Surprised to see how close a baro was to a laser.

    Me too. I didn't think these barometric sensors were very accurate. I think the laser is more accurate for landing. I guess redundancy is good too.
